The history of bell tents and tipis
Some of the first recorded use of bell tents and tipis comes from the nomadic tribes of the Eurasian Steppe, who used them as portable homes for centuries. The design of these tents has changed little over time, and they continue to be used by many people around the world today.
The most notable feature of a bell tent is its conical shape, which is created by a central pole and a series of guy lines that support the walls. This design makes the tent extremely stable in windy conditions and provides plenty of space for sleeping or storage. Tipis are similar in design, but usually have a slightly more tapered shape and only one central pole.
Bell tents and tipis have long been popular with military forces due to their portability and durability.
